Shoe size: Suitable shoes are a crucial criterion for foot health

Careful selection of shoes and measuring feet as an investment in the children's future

Children's feet are still very malleable - the little ones still lack a sense of whether the shoes fit.

Correct measurement for healthy feet

It is always important to check whether the Inner shoe length is actually the same as the insole length (Note: POLOLO shoes have the right insole for every size). If the shoes are too small, the toes will claw - there is a risk of permanent misalignment (see Fig. Hallux valgus), but nail bed infections are also possible. On the other hand, shoes that are too big can result in slipping back and forth because no grip can be found - when rolling, the toes are compressed by "folding" shoes.

Thumb pressure method only makes sense for older children

The so-called thumb pressure method with the Clearance of about 1,2 cm can only be considered a safe method for children aged ten to twelve years - younger children still tend to claw their toes. Both the length and the width of the feet should be measured correctly - it should be noted that “width” is not the same as “width”.
