The POLOLO slipper made of SEAQUAL® YARN has a wide toe box, an anti-slip sole, is very light and fits the foot perfectly. The integrated elastic band makes it easy to pull over the child's foot and the little ones can therefore also put on and take off the shoes independently at a very early age. Made from recycled marine plastic - SEAQUAL® YARN - and lined with soft cotton (organic quality). Ideal for home, nursery and kindergarten.
The model is washable at 30°C by hand or in the wool wash cycle.

More about the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE:

TOGETHER FOR A CLEAN OCEAN!
This motto of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE inspired us to create our colourful children's shoe collection made of upcycled marine plastics.
Unfortunately, many millions of tonnes of rubbish still end up in our oceans every year. We all know that this is a threat to our environment!
Through the commitment of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, plastic waste is collected by around 400 partner fishermen from the seabed, land-based initiatives and volunteers off and along the Spanish coast and then processed into SEAQUAL® YARN. Each kilogramme of SEAQUAL® YARN produced corresponds to one kilogramme of waste.

The goal is a clean sea!
The SEAQUAL INITIATIVE focuses on plastic waste from the sea, beaches, rivers etc. and is mainly active in Spain. The partner network starts with the fishing boats and extends to spinning mills, weaving mills and brands that are committed to the goal of ridding the sea of waste and producing ecologically sound yarns, fibres and fabrics.

The SEAQUAL® YARN:
We normally do not use polyester, but we were basically convinced by this system and the quality of the fabrics. SEAQUAL® YARN has the same properties as fibres made from conventional polyester, but is far superior to them from an ecological point of view. It actively contributes to cleaning the oceans, saves water and energy consumption and reduces CO2 emissions. Material traceability and certificates also assure the end consumer that by choosing a product made from SEAQUAL® YARN, they are supporting the end of plastic pollution in a sustainable way.

This motto of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE inspired us to create our colourful slipper collection made from upcycled marine plastic. Unfortunately, many millions of tons of waste still end up in our oceans every year. We all know this is a threat to our environment! On behalf of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, this plastic waste is collected from the seabed off the Spanish coast by around 400 partner fishermen and then processed into SEAQUAL® YARN. Each kilogram of SEAQUAL® YARN produced corresponds to one kilogram of waste. In order to avoid waste as well, POLOLO does not use any outer packaging or plastic as far as possible.

Vegan line obtained from the prickly pear cactus

POLOLO is always looking for new ecological, modern solutions and materials for the production of beautiful and contemporary children’s shoes. In our “cactus leather” sneaker line, the raw material is obtained from the prickly pear cactus.

It is made from the leaves of the prickly pear. The leaves are not uprooted, but only renewable leaves are used for the production. The cultivation is controlled organic. No energy is used to dry the leaves. The leaves dry in the sun.

Our motto: We hold on to the fact that there is always a way to see and shape things differently. Maximisation is far from everything – we have a great responsibility towards the environment and future generations, we at POLOLO think!

PS: By the way, Pololo is Chilean and means “firm friend” and that is what POLOLO is supposed to be – a good and long-lasting companion!

Not all cotton is the same. The sustainable alternative is called organic cotton from controlled organic cultivation.

Organic cotton is cotton that is produced and certified according to the guidelines and standards of organic agriculture. The cultivation of organic cotton is sustainable and preserves the health of the soil, nature and people, because instead of artificial fertilizers and pesticides are used only natural means and sustainable methods. The use of toxic chemicals and genetically modified organisms (e.g. seeds) is prohibited. Instead, the cultivation of organic cotton combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the environment and promote a good quality of life for all.
