TOGETHER FOR A CLEAN OCEAN!
This motto of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE inspired us to create our new colourful children's shoe collection made from Upcycled Marine Plastics.
Unfortunately, many millions of tons of waste still end up in our oceans every year. We all know this is a threat to our environment! Through the commitment of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, this plastic waste is collected from the seabed off the Spanish coast by around 400 partner fishermen and then processed into SEAQUAL® YARN. Each kilogram of SEAQUAL® YARN produced corresponds to one kilogram of waste.
The goal is a clean sea!
The SEAQUAL INITIATIVE focuses on plastic waste from the seabed. Its network of partners starts with fishing boats and extends to spinning mills, weaving mills and brands committed to ridding the ocean of litter and producing ecologically sound yarns, fibers and fabrics.
The SEAQUAL® YARN:
We normally do not use polyester, but this system and the quality of the fabrics more than convinced us. SEAQUAL® YARN has the same properties as fibers made from conventional polyester, but is far superior to them from an ecological point of view. It actively contributes to cleaning the oceans, saves water and energy consumption and reduces CO2 emissions. Material traceability and certificates also assure the end consumer that by choosing a product made from SEAQUAL® YARN they are supporting the end of plastic pollution in a sustainable way.

Fit of children's shoes
The human foot takes about 18 years to finally develop. In the beginning, of course, it grows the fastest. Therefore, you parents should check the fit of your children’s shoes every 3-4 months. We have always developed removable soles for POLOLO street shoes – as far as this was possible for the respective style. On the one hand, you can then easily change the sole (e.g. put in a wool sole for the winter) and you can measure the foot length or fit very well with it. If the imprint of the big toe is already alarmingly far forward, then your child has already grown again and the next shoe size is due. Our soles are all very flexible, especially our Barefoot collection.
POLOLO pursues the highest ecological standards
When manufacturing our POLOLOs in Spain, we pay great attention to ecological, pollutant-free materials and processing throughout the entire production chain. We only use German natural leathers that are vegetable tanned and certified, organic cotton (Bio / kbA) and wool from controlled organic animal husbandry (Bio / kbT). POLOLOs are allergy-friendly and therefore our leathers are naturally chrome-free.
