Real sheep's wool, like the one we use at POLOLO, is still unique as a heat store and cannot be copied synthetically. The high water absorption capacity of wool creates unique wearing comfort. When it's cold, it keeps you cozy and when you get warm, your child's feet don't sweat in it! You can use wool as one “natural air conditioning” describe.
The entrance to this model is large and so the children's boots can be opened wide and put on very easily. With the wide climbing, the model can also be optimally closed over a wide instep. The shoes are well suited for medium and wide feet. And ideal for children who still have some baby fat on their feet.
The sole
The flexible POLOLO TPR walking sole made of thermoplastic rubber has good slip resistance and is specially designed for the needs of small children. It arches well over the tips of the shoes: This means that the toes are particularly well protected when running, jumping and running. The sole is heel-free, very light and flexible. The wool insole can be removed. This is the best way to check whether the shoes fit well. You can also order insoles from POLOLO if the model is passed on, for example.
Water repellent
Leather is a supple and durable material. The advantage of leather (especially uncoated leather) is that it is naturally breathable and at the same time relatively impermeable to water. Suede shoes like our “Karla” can be well sealed with waterproofing spray. We recommend the ecological manufacturer Tapir, for example. Because in the interests of children and the environment, we recommend ecological variants that are environmentally and health-friendly. Waterproof In this sense, only rubber boots or synthetic boots are included. These are wonderful when it is raining heavily and your child wants to run around in the rain and puddles. But otherwise they are not breathable and should therefore not be used continuously. Our blog article about this:

Fit of children's shoes

The human foot takes approximately 18 years to fully develop. Of course, it grows fastest in the beginning. Therefore, you parents should check the fit of your children's shoes every 3-4 months. For POLOLO street shoes, we have always developed removable soles - as far as this was possible for the respective style. On the one hand, you can easily replace a sole (e.g. add a wool sole for the winter) and you can use it to measure the foot length and fit very well. If the imprint of the big toe is already dangerously far forward, then your child has already grown again and is due for the next shoe size. Our soles are all very flexible, especially our Barefoot collection.

POLOLO pursues the highest ecological standards

When producing our POLOLOs in Spain, we pay great attention to ecological, pollutant-free materials and workmanship throughout the entire production chain. We only use German natural leather that is vegetable tanned and certified, organic quality cotton (organic / kbA) and wool from controlled organic animal husbandry (organic / kbT). POLOLOs are allergy-friendly and therefore our leathers are naturally chrome-free.
