Healthy children are constantly in action - their whole musculature is always in motion, and it should be, because this is how they train their body awareness. Children's feet are not just little adult feet: They are wonderfully soft and flexible because their foot bones are still developing slowly. It is not until they are 18 years old that the foot bones are finally hardened. The slightest pressure - caused, for example, by shoes that don't fit, shoes that are too hard or too little room to move - could possibly cause damage. Care should also be taken with barefoot shoes.
The POLOLO woollen barefoot shoe is made of Tyrolean wool-felt. Sheep's wool is very robust, breathable, heat-insulating and to a certain extent water-repellent and dirt-resistant (but of course a wool-felt shoe is not a rubber boot or a snow shoe). In kindergarten, at home or outside in dry weather, however, the material is a hit! The integrated elastic makes the shoe easy to put on and take off. The POLOLO sole is particularly flexible and slip-resistant, the toe area is optimally adapted to the needs of small children's toes and is nice and wide. This shoe is more suitable for wide feet. The merino wool used is felted with the help of clear mountain water from the Tyrolean Alps, is Bluesign certified and without chemical additives

Fit of children's shoes
The human foot takes about 18 years to finally develop. In the beginning, of course, it grows the fastest. Therefore, you parents should check the fit of your children’s shoes every 3-4 months. We have always developed removable soles for POLOLO street shoes – as far as this was possible for the respective style. On the one hand, you can then easily change the sole (e.g. put in a wool sole for the winter) and you can measure the foot length or fit very well with it. If the imprint of the big toe is already alarmingly far forward, then your child has already grown again and the next shoe size is due. Our soles are all very flexible, especially our Barefoot collection.
POLOLO pursues the highest ecological standards
When manufacturing our POLOLOs in Spain, we pay great attention to ecological, pollutant-free materials and processing throughout the entire production chain. We only use German natural leathers that are vegetable tanned and certified, organic cotton (Bio / kbA) and wool from controlled organic animal husbandry (Bio / kbT). POLOLOs are allergy-friendly and therefore our leathers are naturally chrome-free.
