New eco-friendly children's shoe collection 2024 presented
POLOLO's new slipper model is made from leftover fabric from the children's clothing company disana
[Berlin, January 11, 2024] POLOLO is one of Germany's leading providers of organic children's shoes, headquartered in Berlin with production facilities in Spain and Portugal. At the upcoming leading organic trade fair for textiles and shoes, "INNATEX" (July 20-22, 2024 in Hofheim-Wallau – near Frankfurt), POLOLO will present its new children's shoe models for the season for the first time.

Brand new to the collection is the children's slipper made from disana recycled wool (organic).
Textile manufacturing always generates offcuts. These are fabric remnants that can no longer be used in the production of finished products and must therefore be disposed of. The company disana is one of the world's largest processors of organic wool. Around 20% of this particularly valuable, beautiful, and IVN-certified material is offcut and was previously processed into promotional items or insulation material for the aircraft and automotive industries, or sometimes disposed of at a cost. Elmar Sautter, Managing Director of disana, explains: " A lot of work and care goes into the production and processing of organic wool. Seeing that we simply had to dispose of many tons of fabric remnants every year was no longer acceptable to us, especially in this day and age. " And when asked how and when it all began, Sautter says: " The research, the scientific investigations, the search for producers, even a diploma thesis – it all started about seven years ago. We've been using the felt for five years now. Since then, felt production has been running at an industrial level."
Resource protection and efficiency in the use of materials are also an important pillar of all manufacturing processes for POLOLO. The two German companies have been friends for many years and know each other from many trade fairs and industry activities. For the two pioneers of the organic shoe and textile industry, innovation and transparency have always been important factors for the collection and range.
