Pololo produces leather socks for children, virtually children's shoes that babies can wear as well, baby shoes if you will. Like socks and stockings, but made from ecologically tanned leather, what you might call eco-leather or bio-leather. Each POLOLO leather sock is a is a learn-to-walk shoe and since slippers are an article of toddler wear, these shoes should be skin-friendly as well. The handcrafted leather house shoes made from nappa leather can also be worn by adults, as walking barefoot on unfinished leather soles is very healthy and acts as a spa for your feet. By now, POLOLO is one of the natural-textile producers. The soft leather is vegetably tanned by the Schomisch tannery. Mr. Schomisch, founder of the Ecopell label, describes his calf leather as a natural product. For example, Valonea leather is tanned with extracts from Valonea Oak trees. The Ecopell nappa leather is skin-friendly and high-grade leather, it is steam-permeable, breathable and nontoxic. Biochemical testing proves that bio-leather contains no azo-colorants, is nontoxic, only natural tanning agents are used. In addition, it is allergy-tested and people with irritable skin can also wear Pololo leather shoes without having a reaction, especially those with an untreated surface, therefore being natural, and therewith boosting skin health. The magazine Ökotest also tested them with good results.
Also characteristic for leather are natural attributes, Greenpeace has added the shoe Moby to its catalog, due to unusually ecological and socially friendly aspects, consideration for environment and health protection, the production in Germany and for only processing high-grade, vegetable-tanned nappa and velour leather. And allergics can wear Pololos without worry, too.
The shoe designer, who also is a children's' shoe designer, has created the most beautiful alternative to walking barefoot for feet large and small with her development of the learn-to-walk shoes. Many colors are available: blue, brown, untreated, green, pink and white. With their cheerful designs, the shoes are a great sales success for little and large customers alike.
